Director's ID filings - name discrepancies

It has been interesting to see that directors are registered at Companies House with a variation of the name used for biometric ID (normally passport).
As an ACSP, this adds a further level of diligence to completing the registration and the issue of the unique Companies House code. Where there is a discrepancy, it is, in our opinion, necessary to revert to the client and confirm that we are indeed verifying the correct person. In most cases that date of birth is sufficient for us to believe we have identified the correct person, however it is an area we cannot afford to take chances with client data.
Whilst there is a work-around in the Companies House system, it is our policy to confirm this discrepancy with the client directly before proceeding.
