The latest statistical release from Companies House shows that:
the total register size at the end of June 2024 was 5,399,912, an increase of 49,153 companies (0.9%) compared with the end of March 2024
there were 4,896,842 companies on the effective register at the end of June 2024, an increase of 20,468 companies (0.4%) compared with the end of March 2024
between April and June 2024, there were 217,815 incorporations in the UK, an increase of 5,543 (2.6%) compared with the same period in 2023
there were 162,485 dissolutions in the UK between April and June 2024, a decrease of 15,599 (8.8%) compared with the same period in 2023
