Companies House has launched a new system for third-party registration as Authorised Corporate Service Providers (ACSPs), a key component of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023.

This allows regulated registration agents and other service providers to file information and verify client identities on behalf of companies.

There was a short delay to the expected launch date of February 2025.

CEO Louise Smyth highlighted the initiative as a step toward greater transparency and security in UK business.

The registration process, currently voluntary but mandatory by autumn, involves a £55 fee and requires the applicant's Anti-Money Laundering (AML) supervisory body membership number.

Companies House expects up to 50,000 registrations within the first year. The ultimate goal is to ensure consistent identity verification across all filings with Companies House.
